If there is something I won’t do every day is wash my hair.  I find it extremely harsh on my hair and, to be honest time consuming.  I have A LOT of hair and it’s very thick, washing it and styling daily is a job on its own, and no, I am not being dramatic.  Luckily there is dry shampoo, but there are honestly so many options on the market that it has been challenging to find the one that actually works for me.

OUAI Dry Shampoo Foam

So everybody is talking about this revolutionary new formula. I decided to try it out myself to see if it meets the hype.  Jen Atkin is known to be a hair genius, and her dry shampoo is the first ever foam shampoo in the beauty industry.  The foam has a great thick, firm texture, similar to hair mousse, and you are supposed to take about the size of a golf ball and massage it into your roots.  I loved the texture of the shampoo, and that it didn’t leave any residue in my dark hair.  I love that its sulfate and paraben –free, and that it’s not tested on animals.  However, what I didn’t like was the strong scent, and that my hair really didn’t look clean.  I really really wanted to love it, but unfortunately this one didn’t do the trick for me.

DryBar Detox Dry Shampoo

I love this place and I love their products.  I have tried most of them, and being the DryBar junkie that I am, the dry shampoo was no exception.  My favorite part of the product is the signature scent —I find it to be strong, but not overpowering.  I am very sensitive to fragrances, but this one is great, and I always get compliments about the yummy scent when I use their products. I like that it absorbs all the oil out of my hair, but the downside to this dry shampoo is the tint.  The normal one leaves my hair white and the option for brunettes is a hot mess!  After applying it to my hair, I can’t run my fingers through my hair because they turn black!  Hopefully they will come out with a formula that will blend beautifully with my hair without the tint, and that would be my perfect dry shampoo.  A girl can dream! (sigh)

Bumble and Bumble
Prèt-à-powder Très insvisble
Dry Shampoo

Oh my holy hair goodness!  Now this is what I call phenomenal product. Where has it been all my life!?  Bumble and Bumble got it très perfect!  Out of all the dry shampoos I have tried over the years, this is by far the best!  It’s made with pink French clay and it absorbs all the oil from your hair.  Shake the bottle and spray 8-10 inches away and blend with your fingers or brush. I like that it absorbs the oil, extends your blowout, and has UV protectant for your hair.  The best part? It leaves absolutely no trace or residue on my dark hair.  The scent is wonderful, it is not overpowering but enough to freshen up my hair. Now I can go on for days without washing my hair… now this makes me très jolie!
