A Secret Weapon for Acne Prone Skin

A Secret Weapon for Acne Prone Skin

Unfortunately, I am still having breakouts. Who would have thought this could still be happening in my mid 20’s…but stress and hormones take quite a toll on the skin and the body keeps count! Luckily, I have discovered that using 100% Tea Tree Oil for my breakouts seriously does wonders for clearing my skin because of its antibacterial properties. I can’t even tell you what a difference adding this oil (yes, oil) into my skincare has made in clearing up my skin. There are many different ways to use it, but one of the most basic ways is twice a day – morning and night – after cleansing your skin. You can apply it directly with a Q-tip or a cotton pad. If the oil is it too strong for your skin, dilute the oil a little bit with water before applying. Another way to use the tea tree oil if you tend to have acne prone skin, is to mix it in with your moisturizer and put it all over your face in small amounts (again if it is too strong, dilute it a bit with water before mixing it in with your moisturizer). With both of these methods, there is no need to wash the oil off your face. Having small amounts of tea tree oil on my face smells like I just left the spa and it’s quite relaxing. Lastly, you can make a paste out of baking soda and tea tree oil. Simply add water to a tablespoon of baking soda to make it into a paste, then add in a few drops of tea tree oil. Apply it onto your breakout for about 5 minutes and wash it off. VOILA! Watch your breakouts suddenly disappear! Seriously, I swear by this! I purchase my tea tree oil from Sprouts. The brand doesn’t necessarily matter, just make sure that it’s 100% tea tree oil. Hope you enjoy this beauty hack for beautiful clear skin!
