I have been writing a lot about acne because in the past four months I have become a pimple-faced wreck!! I would look in my zoomed in mirror in the bathroom before doing my makeup and I would feel so discouraged of everything I had to hide. Having acne is seriously the worst and it was messing with my self-esteem! My makeup wasn’t going on as smooth and I really missed the days of having clear skin. My acne was hormonal and I was getting tiny little pimples on my forehead and even some on my neck – I was desperate to find a solution. As I write this post for you guys, I actually just cancelled my appointment that I had booked with a Dermatologist (knock on wood) and I am not making this up. That’s why I want to share with you guys what worked for me and hopefully it’ll make a difference for you too – of course, everyone is different but it does not hurt at all to try natural supplements.
In the midst of a hormonal acne breakout, my sister, the queen of being extremely health conscience who takes about 100 vitamins and supplements a day (okay, I’m exaggerating), recommended I try taking Zinc 50 MG, Pantothenic Acid 500 MG, and a Probiotic for my skin. Now of course I trust my sister, but I had to do some research to see what experts had to say! I’m not opposed to trying anything for my face – it’s the first thing people see when they look at you! This was a pretty safe bet since it was just natural supplements. I did my research and found that acne patients have lower levels of Zinc than people with clear skin. I also read that Zinc works to reduce inflammation and helps promote cell regeneration. I take Zinc once a day right after my first meal and never skip a day! I bought Pantothenic Acid, also known as Vitamin B5 and read that Pantothenic Acid helps with accelerating the healing process for wounds and makes cells multiply faster. Lastly, I decided to take Probiotic because of the theory that the gut is the center of your wellbeing and if you have a healthy gut then this will correlate directly with your outside i.e. your skin. I take it once a day after I eat with my Zinc and Pantothenic Acid.
Now, I am not contributing my skin clearing up only to these supplements. I work very hard on my skin every single day, have used other AMAZING products and do facials, IPL, and YAG lasers. However, within the month that I started using these supplements, my face was 90% clearer and it is even that time of month right now when I ALWAYS get at least one pimple. Again, this might not work for everyone and I am sure it depends on what type of acne you are having or what other contributing factors might be making you break out, but I just wanted to share my experience and how I saw results. Give it time…I had extraordinary results in just one month but while looking up these supplements I read that some peoples results took up to 4 or 5 months. In my opinion, these are worth a try if you are suffering from acne. It’s inexpensive and these supplements aren’t going to hurt you. If they don’t help your face like they helped mine, at least you’ll be guarded against colds with Zinc and have a healthy gut! I seriously hope you guys have the same experience – I can say I have gained my confidence back! Now time to work on my acne scars!!
