Happy Easter peeps! I love holidays and celebrations, but I am always looking for healthy alternatives to traditional store-bought treats that are full of sugar. As we know sugar is a big NO-NO, not only bad to our health but also to our skin. Since my sister gave up gummies for lent this year, I decided I would treat her to some yummy homemade nutritious gummies on Easter (when she can finally eat them).
This recipe is so easy to make with great health benefits –
1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice ( you can play with the amount of lemon juice, depending on how sour you like them)
1/4 cup of water
1 cup of frozen mixed berries
3 tablespoons of honey (or sweetener of choice)
2 teaspoons of probiotic (I used Beauty Chef’s Glow)
¼ cup of Bulletproof Collagelatin
Place the lemon juice, water, frozen berries, and probiotic in Nutribullet or blender and blend until smooth.
Next, in a small sauce pan on low heat, place berry mix, honey, and Collagelatin. Mix constantly for about 5 minutes until all lumps are softened and add to the molds. Place in the freezer for about 10 minutes.
Lemon – is good source of Vitamin C and is full of antioxidants.
Berries are full of antioxidants which are great for the skin!
Probiotics – we’ve all heard that beauty starts from within right? Probiotics help with our gut; healthy gut = healthy skin! This can be substituted for another supplement of your liking (Vitamin C or spirulina just to name a few)
Collagelatin – This amazing supplement is a mix of collagen and gelatin. It contains amino acids such as: glycine, proline, hydroxyproline, aiding with smoother skin, stronger joints, and better sleep.
