My experience with Tatcha’s newest launch, the Violet C Brightening serum

I must admit, I am a serum junkie!  I believe it is one of the most important steps in my skin care routine (who am I kidding, I am obsessed with all of them).  As I have stated in previous posts, serums are a vital part of the skin regime because they penetrate deeper into the skin.  It is important to find one that is suited for your skin and the issues that you want to address.   So when I saw that the J-beauty queen, the one and only TATCHA, had come out with the new Violet C Brightening Serum, I decided to try it.  I have a couple of dark spots that have developed because of my love and hate relationship with the sun, this serum in particular promises to address this issue.

How do I apply the serum?

Serums are meant to be used as the third step in your routine.  First you need to cleanse the skin well, followed by a toner, and then a serum.  Finally, apply your favorite moisturizer.  Some serums can be used both AM and PM, but this one in particular is only to be used in the evening.  Because of its ingredients, it is super important to cleanse the skin the following morning and be extra diligent with SPF, and you want to protect your skin from any future damage.

What does this product promise to do?

1-2 pumps in the evenings promise to reduce the look of dark spots, post acne scarring, and discoloration, resurface dull, uneven skin, and reveal a translucent youthful glow.  This product promises to begin to deliver results after the first week, and full results after 8 weeks of consistent use.

Did I love it?

After reading countless reviews on this product, I was expecting to love it. I used it for about 8 weeks, and my experience with this serum wasn’t amazing.  I like a thicker serum, and this one was too watery.  I felt that when I put the two pumps in my hand they disappeared before I was able to apply them on my skin.  My skin did feel smoother, but the dark spots remain the same.  I had high expectations for this product, and I was really hoping my dark spots would begin to diminish!  For some people this has been life-changing, but I am going to have to pass on repurchasing this serum.

Have you tried this serum? What was your experience?  Comment below, I would love to hear your experience!
